- The integration of peers and relatives into the planning of services, clinics, teaching and research.
- In public mental health policies, research and education, the promotion of evidence-based social psychiatric approaches to community recovery, including hospital day care, ACT-type mobile psychiatry, IPS-type employment support, and psycho-social rehabilitation.
- The development of approaches that promote individual freedoms and the empowerment of users as well as support for shared decision-making.
- Adequate and fair funding for evidence-based interventions that promote recovery from mental health problems.
- Fair and adequate funding for networked approaches in complex situations requiring the coordination of multiple forums.
- Recognition of the role of clinical case management by appropriately-trained professionals in supporting recovery in complex situations.
- The development and dissemination of tools supporting recovery such as the joint crisis plan and advance directives.
